I am 12-18 Months Post Delivery

It’s official; you are a mom of a toddler!

You are juggling life with an active little one, running around and baby proofing your house like mad. Your home probably seems that a baby store took over. It’s a good time to organize all those gifts from your toddler’s birthday party and buy more storage shelves.

Since it’s been just about a year since you gave birth, now is a good time to schedule another visit with your OB/GYN.  Perhaps you need to schedule your pap, mammogram, have blood work done? Don’t forget make your doctor  appointments along with your toddler’s pediatrician appointments. You may be beginning to think about adding on to your family with another little one, or your family is just perfect the way it is. Either way, family planning may be something you want to bring up with your physician at your next visit.
For some, the year mark (your baby’s first b-day) is a milestone and measuring point. Some moms feel that at this point their body to be completely back to their post pregnant self. In some cases this holds true and sometimes it doesn’t. To address any issues you have about your nutritional intake & exercise program, RaisingMOM has Post Natal Specialists to help you succeed.
Another measuring point around this time can be about work. How to juggle work and family life without compromising your toddler and other children’s well being? Perhaps you went back to work full time after 3 months or have been working in various part time or consulting duties. Either way, you have certainly been working as a mom (and for this we don’t get vacation pay). RaisingMOM’s clinical psychologist addresses your specific needs and concerns at any stage of motherhood.
You may be finding yourself as the chief of “no” as your little one is into everything. Set clear limits by telling her what is and is not acceptable behavior. She won't always remember what you've said, but with repetition she'll start getting the idea.
Your toddler may be easily overwhelmed by life's challenges and respond to them by dissolving into tears and screams. Don't ask him to stop — he probably can't. Instead be patient, available, and willing to offer him comfort or just your presence, whatever he seems to need at the moment
For questions about what to feed your baby, how to start, what foods to stay away from, dealing with any known allergies, RaisingMOM’s Nutritionists who are registered dieticians can help. They are also available to set your optimal food plan for you and your family. She will make a home visit to personally help you organize your kitchen and make a meal plan that the whole family can live with.
Car trips can be brutal with a 1 year old. Keep some snacks and special toys in the car to keep fidgeting at bay.
Keeping toddlers occupied is a challenge. RaisingMOM offers Mommy & Me type classes for all ages with just the right play and structure so all can enjoy.
