I am 3-6 Months Post Delivery

Congratulations! You are beginning to leave the newborn stage and onto the next. Your 4th Trimester (“post delivery period) is coming to a close and your body is getting used to being a mom and sleep deprived.

You may have physically recovered from your birthing experience, however, your body may not feel back to itself. And here is why.

Childbirth is a life-and body-changing experience: Your hips and waist may now be slightly wider, and your belly may be softer. Many women find that they simply can't return to their pre-pregnancy weight. As long as your weight is in a healthy range, this is perfectly okay.

If you're breast feeding, it's particularly important not to go on a highly restrictive diet. Instead of focusing on rapid weight loss through a diet or exercise program that may be impossible to live with the rest of your life, think more carefully about what and how much you should eat. RaisingMOM’s Nutritionists who are registered dieticians can help you set your optimal food plan to reach your goals. She will also make a home visit to personally help you organize your kitchen and make a meal plan that the whole family can live with.

Start exercising. Not only can this help weight concerns, this can specifically address some post natal issues that can speed up your body into getting and looking in shape. Exercises that focus on your pelvic floor, abdomen and posture can also lead to a longer leaner you. And let’s talk about energy, what mom couldn’t need more of that caring for a baby? Remember to start slowly, you may have taken a break towards the end of your pregnancy or are new to exercise, so your exercise program should be guided by a specialist qualified to work with post pregnant women. RaisingMOM provides in-home one on one fitness and yoga training along with various group fitness classes at Club H Fitness.

Having a new baby can also bring changes in your relationships with everyone — including your friends. You may drift apart from some pals, but at the same time, your baby will bring you into the path of new friends. Through RaisingMOM’s playgroups and discussion groups at Club H Fitness, you and your partner will meet other new parents with whom you have a lot in common.
